Order of Right-Believing Prince Daniel of Moscow presented to Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk by Patriarch Kirill
DECR Communication Service, 24/10/2024
On 24th October 2024, during a break in the meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church held at the Patriarchal and Synodal Residence in St. Daniel’s Monastery in Moscow, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ presented the Order of the Right-Believing Prince Daniel of Moscow, 2nd class, to Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate.
Present at the award ceremony were members of the Holy Synod, reports Patriarchal Press Service.
The Patriarchal award was given to Metropolitan Anthony in consideration of his zealous archpastoral service and on occasion of his 40th birthday.
“I congratulate you, Vladyka, on this high award and thank you for your work,” the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church said addressing the DECR chairman, “I’ve known you since your adolescent years, seeing you go from strength to strength. I can say that the Lord has given you much, and what the Lord gives does not come from us; it is a gift from God. But how to use this God’s gift is up to us. You have embraced, cultivated and used it in many different circumstances of your life, first and foremost, in your important and demanding service to the Holy Church. I thank you for that and wish you help from God and many years of life. May you continue your fruitful ministry. God save you!”
Metropolitan Anthony cordially thanked His Holiness Patriarch Kirill for the high award.
