Metropolitan Anthony meets with chairman of the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian Society Sergei Stepashin.

On 15th December the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate the metropolitan of Volokolamsk Anthony met with the chairman of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society (IOPS) Sergei Stepashin.
During the meeting, which took place at the Centre of IOPS, there was discussed a number of issues of mutual interest.
The sides particularly exchanged opinions on the successful cooperation in all areas for this jubilee year of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society, including charity work, peace-keeping activities and work involving the strengthening of interreligious dialogue and accord, humanitarian projects and cultural and educational work in both Russia and overseas, reports the site of the IOPS.
At the conclusion of the session Sergei Stepashin presented Vladimir Nikonov with the Yevgeny Primakov Medal. There was then presented a certificate of honour from the Russian ministry of culture to current member of the IOPS, the deputy head of television and journalism at Moscow State University Maria Akhvlediani.
At the conclusion of the event a number of resolutions were adopted that were on the agenda of the session of the Council of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society.
